Trvth2

The Trvth came to life as a tribute to the legendary SB-2 by Tom Kuhn. Being one of the few ILYYs with engravings it struck a nerve for ILYY fans and collectors.

For this 2025 re-invention, we went all out in terms of performance. The Trvth2 features massive stainless steel weight rings that carry 66.6% of the body weight, making the Trvth2 the most rim-weighted ILYY ever, it is relentless.

Also new for this era is an old school death metal inspired “side b” engraving of fleshy darkness by none other than the great Mark Riddik and a box that has seen the undead.

A note about optical imperfections

The Trvth2 batch has slight optical imperfections in the form of black spots around the response area and in the cup.

These are fairly subdued thanks to the black anodizing and bold engraving. We decided against trashing the batch and having them remade since we dislike the thought of scrapping perfectly fine yoyos. Instead, we will offer them at a €20 discount. These imperfections are only cosmetic and do not affect play. The spots are also barely visible without closely inspecting them. We even think they go nicely with the gnarly undead theme of the yoyo.

Regarding US orders

Dear US customers, we are sorry, but for the time being, we can only take orders with some caveats. Unless there is a change to the tariffs and/or the de-minimis exception is re-instated, we are not able to ship to the USA with the normal shipping costs of €14.12.

However, there are a few options:

You can provide an alternate shipping address located outside of the US. Depending on the region, shipping might be less expensive. You can pick up the yoyo at Worlds 2025 in Prague. You can pay the current tariff fee of 30%, that’s €30.

How to get one?

We are selling these now for €100 plus shipping (€6.19 DE). The shipping rate for other locations than DE and USA varies. Please get in touch to receive a precise quote for the current shipping costs.

You can get one now by sending us an email with an order request with your shipping address and telephone number (the latter is only required for US shipments). Please let us know if you want to use a different e-mail address for PayPal. We will then get back to you with a payment request.

It usually takes us several days to reply and process order requests. Regularly, we only take care of order requests on weekends. Please be patient.

Trvth once more

Long time no post. We’ve been busy with our private lives, but are still into making yoyos. Expect new models soon.

Trvth 2014The first release of 2014 is the second production run of the Trvth. We kept the specs of the second prototype and decided to only engrave one side of the yoyo (just like the SB2). Limitation on this one is 30 pieces.

10 will be available from YoYoExpert within the coming weeks.

The Trvth is out there!

Dominik loves his SB2 so much, so we decided to work on a classic shape yoyo, a tribute to Tom Kuhn’s classic. We finally came up with nothing but the Trvth.

At this point, there have been two iterations. The first prototype featured an absolutely straight gap profile. But we found it very hard to play with it, cause of the tiny catch zone. So, to increase the playablity just a bit by maintaining an uncompromising design, at least by today’s standards regarding 1A yoyos, we decided to make the profile slightly wing-shaped. Actually the SB2 was slightly wing-shaped as well.
Now, for our second prototype the catch zone is like double the size of the first version. We also increased the overall diameter just a bit to give it more rim weight and spin time.

Comparison picture: Version 1 – Version 2:

The second prototype features full, state of the art engravings. As you can see, we are kind of going a metal theme here. Its a darkyoyo, which leads us to “black metal” of course. Also, you can think of the name and the term “trve metal”. The style of the engraving goes along with the heavy metal theme as well. Artwork by Clayton V.

The final release will also be candodized, just like the prototypes. The engraving is not final at this point, we might tweak it a bit here and there. As a goodie, the final version will come with a special Graou string made just for us.

We are aiming for a release during second half of 2011.

There is also a short teaser video, that features the prototype version 1:
